Adobe will end support of Flash Player on December 31, 2020. Here's what you can expect in the meantime for each Microsoft browser: In the next version of Microsoft Edge (built on Chromium), Flash will be disabled by default. Flash will not be disabled by default from Microsoft Edge (built on EdgeHTML) or Internet Explorer 11 prior to its removal by December of 2020.
Flash will be completely removed from all browsers by December 31, 2020, via Windows Update. Group policies are available for enterprise admins and IT pros to change the Flash behavior prior to that date.
Companies reliant on Flash for development and playback of content are encouraged to remove the dependency on Adobe Flash prior to December 2020.

I have an old white Macbook 2008 or so laptop with Leopard that still runs (bless its heart) but can't really run any recent browsers. I'd like to have it for my elderly mother to go online and do some very basic browsing.
Is there something that will run with an older machine and still load newer pages? Remove applications on mac. Firefox and Safari are not loading pages in any usable way.

Sorry I don't have any the specs here - would have to go boot it up and get them. So it's more of a general browser question. However, what I do recall is that in terms of resources, it can run leopard, possibly snow leopard although that was questionable. I do not believe it's recommended to run Lion or Mountain Lion on this machine. So it's probably as far as it will go.
Would prefer not to put any money into it, just wondering if there was a band-aid solution. It's still a decent little box; I sometimes use it for audio captures and general computing tasks when the MB Pro is tied up with an encode.
